A Bit About Us
Tackling hunger one brown cardboard box at a time
We will provide services to any qualifying household in Honey Grove and the 15-mile surrounding radius. We do require clients to fill out an annual form but it is a quick process. Any household is automatically approved if they qualify for SSI, SNAP, TANF, Medicare, Medicaid, National School Lunch Program, low income, etc. If the household does not fall under any of these categories but still needs assistance, we ask that they send us a message explaining their situation and we will see what we can do! Box services are the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month from 5-7p. Produce services are the 4th Tuesday of each month.
What Have We Been Up To?
Our "Cool" New Purchase
August 1, 2022
Even with these summer temperatures reaching 106°, our volunteers have continued to work, unpacking delivery trucks, lugging heavy boxes, and loading client cars so that our client's stay well-fed. Things are looking a lot cooler from here on out though, as the Community Food Pantry was able to purchase personal fans for our volunteers to wear while out in this Texas heat. Generosity and donations are what makes purchases like this possible so that we can become more efficient and keep our volunteers safe!

CFP Sets Up New Service Area
July 29, 2022
As the prices of groceries go up, so does the number of people needing a little help from local food pantries. Due to this increase in demand, the Community Food Pantry of Honey Grove is currently only able to service those living in Honey Grove and 15 miles out. There are many other local amazing food pantries for those outside of the circle such as our Bonham and Paris clients. If you need help finding a pantry or have any questions regarding your status, please don't hesitate to reach out to the pantry officers.
The First CFP Recipe Contest
July 16, 2022
The Community Food Pantry asked its clients to create and share a recipe using their pick of two ingredients, a cauliflower baking mix or red kidney beans. As usual, our clients blew us away with their creativity. At the time this article was wrote, our two recipes were Se'lah Constandia's delicious bean dip and Patricia Hewett's recipe for a wonderful fried combination of the two ingredients. We loved seeing what our clients create using their groceries and hope to do more activities like this in the future. To see these recipes and any others that may be added, go check out our Facebook group!
